Service Summary

ITS offers professional and friendly service to the Mason community in support of excellence in teaching, learning, and research. The ITS Support Center posts ITS Alerts when there are unplanned outages impacting the university. The ITS Alerts also includes scheduled maintenance, phishing alerts, bulletins, after-action reports, and known issues.

Service Offerings

Classroom and Lab Technology Support

Classroom and Lab Technologies (CaLT) provides support for classroom facilities, computer classrooms, as well as audiovisual checkout equipment.

Desktop Support

Desktop Support offers consultation, configuration, installation, relocation, and full-service, technical desktop support and repair services to faculty and staff for all university supported hardware and software; best-effort level support is provided for unsupported hardware and software with no guarantee of a successful outcome. Each campus has its own Desktop Support team.

ITS Support Center

The ITS Support Center serves as the central point of contact for the university community for requesting IT support or information. Its mission is to provide professional and friendly service in support of excellence in teaching, learning, and research. The ITS Support Center posts ITS Alerts when there are unplanned outages impacting the university.

If an issue cannot be resolved within the ITS Support Center, it will be referred to the appropriate resource within Information Technology Services for resolution.

The ITS Support Center at Mason Korea serves as the central point of contact for the university community for requesting IT support or information. Its mission is to provide professional and friendly service in support of excellence in teaching, learning, and research.

If an issue cannot be resolved within the ITS Support Center, it will be referred to the appropriate resource within Information Technology Services for resolution.

Technology Support for Resident Students (ResTech)

Resident Technicians (ResTechs) provide proactive, technical support in the residence halls to help students connect to Mason’s networks and to diagnose and troubleshoot computer problems. We will give resident students one-on-one assistance with...

  • Connecting laptops, mobile devices, smart TVs and gaming devices to the Mason network
  • Removing malware, spyware, and viruses
  • Educating about cybersecurity best practices
  • Resolving problems with applications like MasonLive, Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, and Blackboard

ResTechs cannot help with computer or printer hardware problems. If a hardware problem is diagnosed, the ResTech will refer the resident to either Patriot Tech in the Johnson Center or a local computer repair retailer.
