Resident Technician (ResTech)
In addition to the other opportunities available within ITS, we also hire student technicians—ResTechs—to provide proactive, technical support in the residence halls to help students connect to Mason’s networks and to diagnose and troubleshoot computer problems that Mason residents may experience.
Want to be a ResTech?
ResTechs are hired during the Spring semester for the next Fall and Spring Semesters. The application will be made available at during the first half of the Spring semester. Please check back for more updates!
How do I get hired?
To be considered, potential ResTechs will need to apply through the Handshake application on the Career Services website.
Is there any training, etc.?
Yes, there is. ResTechs go through a training program that prepares you and gives you all the necessary tools to help Resident Students get connected. If you are living on campus you will move-in a week early to assist with getting things prepared for Get Wired. Get Wired is a program designed to assist incoming freshmen connect to Mason's network. Housing costs for early move-in are paid for by the program.
What about pay?
ResTechs are paid on an hourly basis. You are required to work a minimum of 10 hours a week.
